HOT LUNCH INFO/ORDERING
Hello Parents!
As another school year is upon us, it is time to get the Hot Lunch Program up and running. We will be doing online ordering for all orders to ensure accuracy and to make the process as easy for everyone as possible. Instructions for set up are at the end of this letter.
The first Hot Lunch date this year is October 2nd and will be every Friday until mid-June, except holidays or PD days. For the weeks where Friday is a holiday or PD day, we will be having Booster Juice as the vendor on the Thursday instead. Please consult your child’s class schedule for field trips, etc. as refunds will NOT be issued.
Each month will have a cut-off date for ordering. There are no exceptions to the cut-off dates as orders are submitted to vendors immediately. You should receive weekly reminders of the upcoming menus on Wednesdays so you know what you ordered. If you do not, you need to log into your account and turn this option on. It is also a great way to know if, and what, you ordered.
DAY OF HOT LUNCH: Should your child be sick or away from ÉJELS on the day of Hot Lunch, you must send an email to the Hot Lunch coordinator (jelapointehotlunch@outlook.com) BEFORE 10:30 AM to have your child’s lunch pulled for pick up. Please do not call the office. If you do not email, the lunch will be resold or given to another student.
On Hot Lunch days we will also have a snack concession. We will have prepackaged snacks available for purchase (cash only).
The Hot Lunch online ordering system requires a small amount of set up time at the beginning, as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering hot lunch. You must register for a new account every school year, as the login/account information does not carry over from one year to the next. Once the initial set up process is complete, ordering should be quick and simple. Ordering for all Hot Lunch dates in October and November will be available starting on Thursday, September 10th (December dates will be open for ordering soon). Ordering for the October Hot Lunch dates will close on Thursday, September 24th.
Here is how to get started…
- Go to jelapointe.hotlunches.net
- Click on “Click Here to Register”
- Enter access code JEL
- Complete the rest of the registration form
- Click the “Register Now” button at the bottom
- Follow the instructions to add each child in your family who attends ÉJELS
- Once your child(ren) is/are registered, click on the “Orders” heading
- Proceed to order hot lunch for your child(ren)
Payments:
We only accept payments online. No cheque or cash payments will be accepted at any time. Payments are processed through Shift4 with credit card or visa debit, and a processing fee of 2.8% plus $0.25 is charged per transaction.
Fees:
There will be a $0.25 fee charged per transaction to offset the cost of the hotlunches.net online program.
